What Is Fun-Plex Waterpark & Rides?

Fun-Plex is a seasonal outdoor waterpark and amusement park at 7003 Q Street in Omaha. The attraction has operated in Omaha since 1979 and combines pools, waterslides, children’s water play, a lazy river and wave pool with go-karts and traditional amusement rides.

๐ŸŒŠ

Waterpark

Motion Ocean wave pool, Lazzzy River, thrill slides, Makana Splash, Sprayway and younger-child areas.

๐ŸŽ๏ธ

Ride Park

Go-karts, family rides, kiddie rides and Mammoth, the park’s larger roller-coaster attraction.

๐Ÿ”

Full-Day Facilities

Food concessions, lockers, changing rooms, cabanas, restrooms and same-day re-entry.

Why this matters when buying: Some waterparks charge separately for adjacent rides or dry attractions. Fun-Plex’s standard 2026 admission included the waterpark, rides and go-karts in the same ticket.

Fun-Plex Waterpark Ticket Prices 2026

Fun-Plex used three main day-ticket options during the 2026 season. Prices were listed per guest and were subject to 7% sales tax.

Same-day return Re-entry is allowed

Get a hand stamp when leaving if you plan to return later during the same business day.

Ticket policy No purchase refunds

Fun-Plex states that tickets are not refunded after purchase.

Do not budget from the ticket price alone. Admission does not include lockers, cabanas, meals or drinks. Those extras can materially change the cost of a family visit.

Official verification: Fun-Plex ticket page.

Fun-Plex Family Cost Estimator

Use this to estimate the basic cost of admission, tax and selected fixed-price extras. Food, drinks, transportation and other optional spending are intentionally not guessed.

Estimator assumptions: ticket and cabana rates use the listed 2026 base price. The calculation adds 7% tax to admission and cabana selections. Locker rental is shown at its listed amount.
Estimated basic visit total
$184.00
For 4 paid guests before food and transportation.

Fun-Plex Hours & 2026 Season Status

Fun-Plex is an outdoor seasonal park, not a year-round indoor waterpark. Its 2026 day-ticket terms described public operating days from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.

๐ŸŒž

Summer Operation

The main public season falls during the warmer Omaha summer period.

๐Ÿ“†

Exact Hours Vary

Do not assume that every weekday, weekend or special event has identical operating hours.

๐Ÿ”„

Ride Rotation

During low attendance, individual attractions can temporarily close or operate on a scheduled rotation.

Current status: the official Fun-Plex website now says the park is closed for the 2026 season. Travelers planning a future visit should wait for the next official operating calendar rather than reusing 2026 dates.

Check: official Fun-Plex park hours.

  2. Travel south on 72nd Street for about one mile.
  3. Turn left onto Q Street.
  4. Pass the Fun-Plex sign.
  5. Turn right at 69th Street.
  6. The main parking area will be on the right.

Also see the official Fun-Plex park map before entering so your group knows where the waterpark, ride park, lockers, changing rooms, food and cabanas are located.

Fun-Plex Waterslides, Pools & Height Rules

The largest planning mistake for families is promising a child a specific slide before checking height, swimming ability and attraction rules. Several of Fun-Plex’s major slides use a 48-inch minimum height.

๐Ÿ›

Shipwreck Chutes

Thrill slide 48โ€ณ minimum

Two body-slide experiences finish in an 11-foot-deep splash pool. Fun-Plex says only strong swimmers should use the attraction.

Max weight: 300 lb
โฌ‡๏ธ

Double Trouble

Drop slide 48โ€ณ minimum

Launch-capsule slides where the floor drops away beneath the rider.

Max weight: 300 lb
๐ŸŒช๏ธ

Rockin’ Rapids

Tube slide 48โ€ณ minimum

More than five stories tall with approximately 1,200 feet of sliding according to Fun-Plex.

Weight: 300 lb solo / 450 lb combined
๐Ÿ„

Typhoon Falls

Mat slide 48โ€ณ minimum

A single-rider slide using a park-provided mat and finishing in a roughly 3-foot splash pool.

Max weight: 275 lb
๐ŸŒŠ

Motion Ocean

Wave pool

Zero-depth gradual entry with water reaching approximately 6 feet deep.

Non-swimmers should use a life jacket and remain behind the non-swimmer line.
๐Ÿ›Ÿ

Lazzzy River

Relaxing Family

Approximately 3 feet 1 inch deep. Park tubes are used and infant safety tubes are allowed under the park’s stated exception.

๐Ÿ’ฆ

Makana Splash

Kids Water playground

Interactive structure featuring sprays and a large water bucket that Fun-Plex describes as holding 317 gallons.

Pink/green upper slides: over 36โ€ณ.
Blue slide: under 42โ€ณ.
โ›ฒ

The Sprayway

Splash pad

Interactive water-play area. Children under age 4 must remain within reach of their guardian.

๐Ÿ‘ถ

Lil’ Lagoon

Under age 10

Younger-child splash area requiring adult supervision. Swim diapers are required for children who are not toilet trained.

Parent shortcut: if your group has children on both sides of the 48-inch mark, divide the first 30โ€“60 minutes. Taller thrill riders can start on the major slides while the younger group begins with Makana Splash, Sprayway or Lil’ Lagoon. Regroup later at the lazy river.

Fun-Plex Amusement Rides & Go-Karts

Waterpark admission also covered the park’s dry rides and go-karts. This is useful around lunch, during a swimming break, or when your family wants a change from the waterpark.

๐ŸŽข Mammoth

Larger coaster attraction. Riders must be at least 48 inches tall and at least 6 years old.

๐ŸŽ๏ธ Fun-Plex Speedway

Go-kart racing is one of the park’s signature dry attractions. Check the posted rider and passenger requirements before lining up.

๐Ÿš‚ Fun-Plex Express

Kiddie train ride with a minimum age of 2 and maximum rider height of 54 inches.

๐Ÿ Race-Go-Round

Kiddie vehicle ride for children age 2+, with a listed maximum height of 54 inches.

๐Ÿš— Family Rides

The ride park also includes spinning and driving-style attractions. Follow the posted rule board at each ride.

๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Shoes Required

Fun-Plex requires shoes on rides. Secure hair, jewelry, loose clothing and pocket items before boarding.

Visiting Fun-Plex With Children

Children 3 & Under

For the 2026 season, Fun-Plex expanded free admission to children age 3 and younger.

Families with toddlers should focus on shallow-water areas, Sprayway and Lil’ Lagoon, then build breaks around shade, snacks and changing time.

Chaperone Policy

Guests under age 16 must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old.

One adult chaperone may accompany up to six youths and must remain in the park for the group’s visit.

Best Areas by Visitor Type

Visitor Start With Then Try Planning Issue
Toddlers Lil’ Lagoon / Sprayway Shallow family areas Swim diapers, shade and frequent breaks.
36โ€“47 inch children Makana Splash options Wave pool / lazy river based on swim ability Many major slides still require 48 inches.
48 inch+ thrill riders Major slides early Go-karts / Mammoth later Check weight and swim requirements.
Mixed family Split briefly by height Regroup at Lazzzy River Pick a meeting point before separating.

Fun-Plex Lockers, Changing Rooms & Valuables

Fun-Plex lists changing rooms and lockers near the waterpark entrance. The 2026 FAQ gives two all-day locker options.

Medium Locker
$15

All-day rental.

Jumbo Locker
$20

All-day rental.

Locker system: Fun-Plex says its current lockers use a wristband and allow unlimited entries during the rental period. There are no locker keys to return and locker rental payments are not refunded.

What Should Go in the Locker?

  • Car keys that are not secured elsewhere.
  • Wallets and unnecessary payment cards.
  • Dry clothing.
  • Non-waterproof electronics.
  • Loose jewelry.
  • Items that could fall from amusement rides.

Food, Drinks, Cashless Payment & Re-Entry

Fun-Plex concessions are cashless. The park’s food information lists credit cards, debit cards, Fun-Plex gift cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay as concession payment options.

๐Ÿ’ณ Inside the Park

Plan to use a card, supported mobile payment or Fun-Plex gift card.

๐Ÿ’ต Bringing Cash?

Cash can be used at the ticket booth or to purchase a Fun-Plex gift card for use inside.

โ†ฉ๏ธ Same-Day Re-Entry

Get a hand stamp before leaving if you plan to return the same day.

Can You Bring Food Into Fun-Plex?

General outside food and beverages are not permitted. Fun-Plex lists several important exceptions:

  • One sealed bottle of unflavored water per person.
  • An empty bottle that can be filled with water/ice.
  • Small amounts of baby or toddler food.
  • Formula or milk for young children.
  • Small food portions needed for allergies, diabetes or other health needs.
Budget-saving practical option: Fun-Plex permits same-day re-entry with a hand stamp. Families who do not want to purchase every meal inside can review the current rules and plan an outside meal break before returning.

Food Locations

Lazzzy Chicken

Chicken strips, fries, salads, pretzels and snacks.

Ohana Grill

Burgers, hot dogs and fries.

Pit Stop Pizza

Pizza and salad near the Speedway area.

Sunny’s Sweets

Funnel cakes and frozen treats.

Chillerz at the Bay

Frozen beverages and drinks.

Breakers Bay

Adults-only 21+ swim-up bar area.

Fun-Plex Cabana Prices 2026

A cabana can make more sense for a full-day family visit than a short evening ticket, particularly for groups needing shade, seating, electrical access or a fixed meeting place.

Cabana Capacity Starting Price Included Setup
South Shore Up to 6 $99.99 + tax Table, chairs, rocking chairs, outlet, ceiling fan and storage box.
Riverfront Up to 6 $129.99 + tax Table, chairs, pool loungers, outlet and storage box.
Makana Up to 12 $199.99 + tax Larger furniture setup, loungers, outlet and storage box.
Admission is separate. A cabana reservation does not admit your group into Fun-Plex. Everyone still needs qualifying admission.
Storage box lock: the cabana storage box requires a lock. Fun-Plex lists locks with a $10 refundable deposit.

Cabana Cancellation Detail

Fun-Plex does not provide cabana refunds. Its policy allows qualifying advance cancellations to be transferred to another available date or converted to park credit when handled within the required timeframe. Weather-specific transfer rules can also apply.

Important Fun-Plex Waterpark Rules

๐Ÿ‘™ Swimwear

Proper swimwear is required. Denim and garments with exposed zippers, buckles or metal hardware are prohibited on water attractions.

๐Ÿฆบ Life Jackets

A limited number of complimentary life jackets are available. Personal U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets are also permitted.

๐Ÿšซ Slide Restriction

Life jackets are not permitted on waterslides.

๐Ÿ‘ถ Swim Diapers

Children who use diapers must wear diapers intended for swimming.

๐Ÿ›Ÿ Outside Floats

Outside inflatable flotation devices are generally prohibited. A small infant flotation exception applies only in Lazzzy River.

๐Ÿšฟ Shower First

Fun-Plex rules require guests to shower with soap and water before entering the water.

Attraction signage and lifeguard instructions at the park control the actual ride. Height, weight, age, swimming ability, weather and maintenance can all affect eligibility even when an online summary looks suitable.

Can You Bring Chairs or an Umbrella?

Fun-Plex prohibits personal beach umbrellas, pop-up tents and canopies because those items can become airborne.

Personal chairs are not subject to a total blanket ban, but staff can require them to be moved if they block walkways or are placed in inappropriate areas. Personal chairs cannot be used to increase a cabana’s stated capacity.

If shade is a major requirement for babies, older relatives or a long all-day visit, compare cabana cost before arriving instead of assuming you can bring your own canopy.

Fun-Plex Rain & Severe Weather Policy

Rain does not automatically mean the entire park closes. Attractions may temporarily shut down for rain, wind, lightning or other unsafe conditions and reopen if conditions improve.

โ›ˆ๏ธ

Closure Before 5 PM

If severe weather closes attractions before 5 PM and you choose to leave, Fun-Plex says a raincheck may be requested with the original entry ticket.

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ

Raincheck Timing

Any raincheck issued must be used during the same season.

๐Ÿ’ต

No Cash Refund

Fun-Plex states that payment refunds are not issued after purchase.

For a long drive into Omaha, check the official site and weather immediately before departure. If the park decides not to open at all, Fun-Plex says it posts the closure on its website and social channels.

Military Discount & Local Omaha Details

Fun-Plex says discounted, tax-exempt tickets are offered through the Offutt Air Force Base Outdoor Recreation Office. These tickets must be purchased in person at Offutt rather than assuming the discount is available at the Fun-Plex gate.

Offutt ITT / Outdoor Recreation 101 Union Lane, Building 363
Offutt AFB, NE 68113

Phone listed by Fun-Plex: 402-294-2077.

Local arrival tip: the easy mistake is turning into the wrong Q Street parking area. The official directions specifically route summer visitors to the main lot from 69th Street.

Accessibility & Special-Needs Planning

The official park map identifies features such as handicap parking, restrooms, changing areas and a toddler/nursing room. However, the official material reviewed for this guide does not provide enough detailed attraction-by-attraction information to promise a specific aquatic transfer method, pool lift or mobility setup.

Best approach: if someone in your group has a mobility, sensory, medical or attraction-transfer requirement, contact Fun-Plex before traveling and ask about the exact facility or ride you intend to use. Main phone: 402-331-8436.

A Better Fun-Plex Day Plan

Instead of walking into the park and deciding everything after entry, use a simple sequence. It reduces backtracking between the ride park and waterpark.

Before open
Arrive, park and organize. Have tickets ready, apply sunscreen, use changing rooms if needed and choose a family meeting point.
First 15 min
Check today’s operating board. Attraction rotation or maintenance matters more than a perfect internet itinerary.
First hour
Do your highest-priority thrill slides. Riders who meet 48-inch requirements should consider major slides before lines build.
Mid-morning
Regroup at Lazzzy River or Motion Ocean. This is a natural point for mixed-age families to meet again.
Lunch
Eat before everyone gets exhausted. Decide whether you’re using on-site concessions or same-day hand-stamp re-entry.
Afternoon
Move toward go-karts and dry rides. This changes the pace after several hours of swimming.
Final hour
Repeat favorites instead of crossing the park repeatedly. Let each group choose one final priority attraction.

7 Mistakes First-Time Visitors Can Avoid

1. Using the wrong parking entrance

Main summer parking is accessed from 69th Street.

2. Promising a 48โ€ณ slide

Measure younger riders before the visit.

3. Bringing a picnic inside

General outside food is prohibited.

4. Assuming cash works everywhere

Inside concessions operate cashless.

5. Forgetting a locker budget

Medium and jumbo lockers carry separate rental charges.

6. Assuming every ride runs constantly

Low attendance can cause attraction rotation.

7. Ignoring the chaperone rule

Guests under 16 require a qualifying adult chaperone.
